The Disappointing Trip…

…that sparked a change.

Here’s some of the photos from that disappointing outing I mention couple days ago. They turned out pretty good, so I guess it wasn’t all that disappointing but it wasn’t what I was hoping for. Silver lining of it is I actually made a step in the right direction instead of whinging on and on. In this day and age you have to do it yourself if its ever going to get done. No one is going to hand you the world. You have to grab the world.

This place made me laugh, I loved the old west façade  which was right in between to a bar and grill and the Bag of Nails Pub, because that’s where you want your guns. 😀

These two were part of the 9/11 memorial that old hilliard has, how they got a hold them I don’t know.

Someone had a birthday party in the park and all down a path were chalk writings and drawings.

Stuck in Suburbia

There are a lot of pluses and minuses to living where I live, plus- its quiet, minus no shops nearby, well unless you drive then yeah. plus- tons of nature, minus- no people and architecture unless you like tract housing. In any case I went for a walk around suburbia, it ended up mostly the church grounds.

Name Change

It might seem premature to do this since I won’t get the cards for 2 weeks and there is no guarantee that people will actually use the site to book me as a photographer. But I’m one of those people once I get an idea in my head I have to do it that instant or it drops dead. And it a way I view this a journey blog versus a business blog.  And really I don’t want to show possible customers  how new I am to this industry.  So from now on this will be my personal blog about my journey in the world of photography.  I’ll be redoing Miranda’s Eye Photography as another blog. If you want to check it out a link will follow soon.  I hope you all continue to follow.

Well that was Scary

I took another step toward this professional photographer dream, I ordered my own business cards. EEK! It shouldn’t be that scary since once I run out I could change the design if I wanted to.  But to take that next step was a big one. I’ll get them in 2 weeks and of course will post a picture.

I of course have thought about doing this for ages, but I guess it came out of my disappointing outing today. I have taken more than enough nature photos for a long time and want to move into taking pictures of people both posed and not. So I went to a park where I knew there was a ton of kids, but I feel creepy, I mean we live in a day and age where parents are super protective of kids and some weird person with a camera sends up the alarms. So I thought maybe if I did get yelled at I could at least show them the card as someone who was legit. I would love some advice on how to move past the nervousness of approaching or just taking photos without feeling creepy.
